Harvard Law School professor Lawrence Lessig says that the Democratic Party presidential primary is ignoring the issues of crony capitalism and campaign finance reform. “It is really astonishing…that we have not yet had a question that addresses the crony capitalism problem” in the Democratic debates, Lessig said Monday morning.

Democrats Rail Against Democratic Obama’s Record

If you’re looking at the country through the eyes of Hillary Clinton, Bernie Sanders or Martin O’Malley, it’s hard to muster the fortitude to get up in the morning. Everywhere rapacious bankers, money lenders, plutocrats and health company executives are conspiring to enrich themselves off the labors, and dreams, of regular Americans.

Hillary Clinton Is Conveniently Clueless On Encryption

She doesn’t understand email servers, and after last night’s Democratic Presidential debate it seems she doesn’t understand the basics of web privacy either. In comments that even the ultra-progressive Vox Media outlet The Verge called “borderline illiterate,” Hillary Clinton appeared to simultaneously support and oppose

Vegas Debate: No-Fly Zones, Regime Change, and Other Shattered Illusions

The interesting discussion is all on the Republican side, and there were some strong exchanges in Las Vegas. Contrary to Chris Christie’s dismissal of the debate over surveillance between Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio as so much senatorial jibber-jabber, there are serious questions of liberty, security, and privacy to discuss. (Having said that, Governor Christie’s tone will probably appeal to voters who want strong leadership and decisive action on national security, as will Donald Trump’s.)

Exclusive — Rand Paul: Debate Moderators Must Press Marco Rubio on Gang of Eight Amnesty Bill

LAS VEGAS, Nevada — Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) is calling on CNN’s Wolf Blitzer and the other debate moderators here this evening to actually ask Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) about the “Gang of Eight” amnesty bill he pushed with Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY). Rubio, in multiple debates so far this election cycle, has not been asked even once about the bill—his only legislative accomplishment other than providing the 60th vote for Obamatrade’s Trade Promotion Authority (TPA)—during any debate. It remains to be seen if Blitzer will asks Rubio about his amnesty plan with Schumer.
