From Austria comes the report of a scene all too familiar on the southern border of the United States, cranked up to a degree that would raise the eyebrows of even the most seasoned U.S. Border Patrol veterans. 86 Middle Eastern “migrants” were stuffed into a locked, windowless truck, blasting through 95-degree heat without ventilation for over twelve hours.

Texas Gov. Signs Toughest Border Security Plan of Any State, and Seeks Fed Reimbursement

Texas Governor Greg Abbott held a ceremony to sign the toughest and most comprehensive border security plan of any state in the United States of America. The legislative package provides historic levels of funding to secure the border, establishes a Child Sex Trafficking Prevention Unit, strengthens penalties for human traffickers, increases funding for the border protection unit, and seeks reimbursement from the federal government for Texas funds spent on border issues.

5 Illicit Massage Parlors Busted in Texas, Say Authorities

Officers with the Corpus Christi Police Department and agents of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security raided five suspected illegal massage parlors. Arrests came after some neighboring businesses complained of girls watering the plants outside while wearing revealing lingerie. Eight women were arrested in the operation.

However, the difference this year is a coalition of anti-human trafficking organizations who have joined with city law enforcement and conference organizers to combat the widespread sex trafficking that usually occurs during this event.

Authorities have arrested one of the top 10 most wanted human traffickers. According to Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Paulino Ramirez-Granados has been on its most wanted list since 2010. He’s been charged in the Eastern District of New York with sex trafficking, money laundering and conspiracy to import aliens.

Matriarch of Alleged Teenage Prostitution and Human Trafficking Conspiracy on Trial in Texas

The stack of charges includes sex trafficking, harboring people illegally in the U.S., and money laundering. Deputy U.S. Attorney Reuben Perez says that Hortencia Medeles, 68, could receive life in prison without parole if found guilty on all charges. The charges relate to a human trafficking ring which took place in two Houston area nightclubs that served as brothels for underaged girls and other trafficking victims.
