Illegals Sue U.S. For Millions Of Dollars Over Detention

Andrew Free, the immigration lawyer representing the plaintiffs, told the AP that the government’s use of family detention violates their rights and that the government fails to provide the “standard of care that they owe to these detainees. We expect this will be the first in a large set of filings on the mistreatment of these women and children on behalf of the government.”

ICE Losing Illegal Immigrants Released from Texas Family Detention Centers and Jails

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is losing track illegal immigrants released from jails and family detention centers. ICE does not know how many immigrant families they let go and they do not seem to know where the ones they let go went. Many of these families have been released in Texas. New removal enforcement policies have let to criminal aliens simply being released from jails across the country.

Judge Orders Release of Up to 1,700 Illegal Immigrant Families in Texas

A California court ruling could set free more than 1,700 women and children who are being held by the Department of Homeland Security in facilities in the town of Dilley and Karnes County, Texas. As of Monday, immigration judges were getting the word out to release these families, as part of a court decision in California that struck down the Obama administrations policy regarding the handling of Central American illegal immigrant families and unaccompanied minors.

Willie Brown Criticizes S.F. Sheriff’s Extreme Sanctuary City Policy

San Francisco’s first black mayor, Willie Brown, slammed San Francisco Sheriff Ross Mirkarimi Friday for “doubling down” on his department’s extreme version of sanctuary city policies–policies that released a five-time deported, seven-time convicted felon just two months before the he shot and killed 32-year-old Kate Steinle, according to the suspect’s own jailhouse confession.

SF Sheriff Specifically Asked for Killer’s Transfer to SF

New information in case of the July 1 shooting death of Kathryn Steinle in San Francisco reveals that the San Francisco’s Sheriff’s Department specifically requested the transfer of five-time deportee, seven-time convicted felon Juan Francisco Lopez-Sanchez to their custody upon release from federal prison on the basis of a drug charge that the Sheriff has since told reporters the city almost never prosecutes.

S.F. Police Union Blasts Liberal Politicians, Sanctuary City Policies

The San Francisco Police Officers Association (SFPOA), the city’s police union, has blasted San Francisco Sheriff Ross Mirkarimi and Public Defender Jeff Adachi following the shooting death of Kathryn Steinle July 1 by a five-time deportee and seven-time convicted felon who had come to San Francisco because it is a “sanctuary city” that does not enforce federal immigration laws.

U.S. Senator Dianne Feinstein penned a letter to San Francisco Mayor Ed Lee blaming the San Francisco Sheriff’s Department for not handing over five-time deportee and seven-time convicted felon Juan Francisco Lopez-Sanchez to federal immigration officials. Lopez-Sanchez confessed to killing 32-year-old Kathryn Steinle on July 1, though he has pleaded not guilty.
