Texas Judge Declares State’s Online Sexual Solicitation of a Minor Law Unconstitutional

A Texas district court judge declared the state’s online sexual solicitation of a minor law unconstitutional on Wednesday afternoon. The judge ruled that the law violates the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution regarding freedom of speech. The state’s law prohibits using the internet or any other electronic communication to arrange a meeting with a minor for sexual relations.

Is Your Teen Daughter a ‘Sextortion’ Victim?

The FBI is requesting the help of the public in finding 250 additional teen victims of an online sexual predator who was convicted last year for production of child pornography. He was later sentenced to more than 100 years in prison. The predator had an on-going “sextortion” scheme where he exploited nearly 350 teenage girls. Authorities have identified around 100 of the victims but need help in identifying nearly 250 more.

17 Alleged Child Predators Busted Across Texas

The Texas attorney general’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force (ICAC) joined with the national ICAC task force in “Operation Broken Heart II.” The operation, which included federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies resulted in the arrest of 17 alleged child predators.
