Book: Brian Williams’ Producer Told Bogus Iraq Story to Military Mom in 2003

Author and military mother Mary Ward relays a story of talking to NBC producer Justin Balding, who says he rode in the same helicopter as Brian Williams and also claims the Chinook was hit by an RPG. The year of this event is unclear, but Ward’s book was published in October 2004, so the interaction with Balding would have to occur some time before then:
