CNN’s List of Treasured Places on ‘Verge of Extinction’ Omits ISIS-Controlled UNESCO Sites

In a post urging to “go see them now, before it’s too late,” Jacopo Prisco at CNN catalogued 25 ancient and endangered locales in the modern world. Missing from the list is Palmyra, Syria, which is currently under destruction by the Islamic State (ISIS/ISIL/IS) and other UNESCO Heritage Sites in the Middle East that remain in danger due to groups like ISIS.

ISIS Threatens to Take Gaza from Rival Terror Group Hamas

The Islamic State (ISIS/ISIL) on Tuesday threatened to take over the Gaza Strip from one of its rival Sunni terror groups, Hamas, which rules the Palestinian territory. In a video message released from Raqqa, Syria, ISIS complained that Hamas had not enforced Sharia law to a sufficient degree.

The Gaza-ruling Palestinian terrorist group Hamas has launched a new English-language website in an attempt to shore up its public diplomacy efforts. “We have launched our English website because we believe that communication matters,” the jihadi group said on its Twitter page.

Israel Welcomes New Egyptian Ambassador

Israel accepted Egypt’s new Ambassador to the holy land, Hazem Khairat, over the weekend. The diplomat, who has prior experience as Egypt’s envoy to the Arab league and Egyptian ambassador to Chile, will be the first Ambassador from Cairo to permanently stay in Tel Aviv since 2012.
