White House Focused on Executive Action for Background Checks on Private Sales

On November 12 a CBS News report focused on Everytown for Gun Safety’s efforts to secure more gun control revealed that President Obama has “assigned White House lawyers” to look for a way that executive action can be used to expand background checks to include private gun sales or at least some sales by private gun owners.

Michael Bloomberg’s Money Fails Again as Pro-Gun GOP Holds VA Senate

In the lead-up to the November 3 elections, Michael Bloomberg pumped over $2 million into a couple of Virginia state Senate races in hopes of taking away the pro-gun GOP’s two-seat advantage and giving Governor Terry McAuliffe (D) the opportunity to start succeeding with his gun control efforts. But when the polls closed and the dust settled, the GOP had retained all their seats, and Bloomberg’s money had failed to secure gun control once again.

Gun Control Groups Join Black Lives Matter

Various gun control groups are partnering with Black Lives Matter in an effort to push gun control in Congress, Politico reports. It is the latest partnership for Black Lives Matter, which is also working with the radical Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR).

On July 17, MSNBC’s Thomas Roberts referenced the Chattanooga attack on unarmed U.S. Marines and the PEW poll showing Americans are moving away from gun control, then asked Shannon Watts if she’s “fighting a losing battle–that people feel that it’s going to take a good guy with a gun to outdo a bad buy with a gun?” Watts rejected the suggestion.
