Child Rapist Deported to Ecuador

An illegal immigrant convicted of raping a child in Ecuador has been deported back to that country by the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency.

President Obama plans to stop by the Integrity House in Newark, N.J., to press for criminal justice reform for non-violent drug offenders. The Integrity House is a halfway house and drug-treatment center for criminals. “Nice of you to show up,” notes Governor Chris Christie, who has spent a large part of his two terms in New Jersey pushing for criminal justice reform and drug addiction treatment.

According to the New York Times, while Dale Russakoff’s new book, The Prize: Who’s in Charge of America’s Schools? has just hit bookstores Tuesday, it is already “a source of enormous contention.” It begins in 2010 when Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg became the subject of much media attention as he announced on Oprah that he would throw $100 million into Newark, New Jersey’s failing public school system.
