Moroccan Intellectual Slammed for Denying ‘Miracles’ in the Quran

TEL AVIV — Moroccan intellectual , human rights activist and secularist Ahmed Assid has met with a storm of anger on social media after claiming that there is no proof of the miracles described in the Quran and for criticizing the larger Muslim world for advancing in science or technology.

H.R. McMaster Endorsed Book That Advocates Quran-Kissing Apology Ceremonies  

A book on terrorism endorsed and touted by H.R. McMaster, the embattled White House National Security Adviser, calls on the U.S. military to respond to any “desecrations” of the Quran by servicemembers with an apology ceremony, and advocates kissing a new copy of the Quran before presenting the Islamic text to the local Muslim public.

Television Series About Islamic State Stirs Controversy In Saudi Arabia

A television show about the Islamic State group aired by the international Saudi station MBC, is stirring up controversy inside the kingdom and without, particularly among the Syrian opposition. The series, called “The Black Crows” portrays among other things ISIS’ treatment of woman, including the phenomenon of sex jihad.

Greece Condemns State-Sanctioned Quran Readings at Hagia Sophia

The Turkish government has sanctioned Quran recitations by a different senior Islamic cleric each day of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan so far this year at the secular Hagia Sophia Museum. Christian-majority Greece has condemned the move as the “creeping Islamization of the building,” reports Agence France-Presse (AFP).
