Kris Kobach Pushes All States to Adopt Voter ID Laws

DENVER, Colorado—Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach in Colorado on Saturday was pushing states to adopt the Secure and Fair Elections (“SAFE”) Act, model legislation he wrote to prevent vote fraud by requiring voter identification and proof of citizenship.

Investigators work at the scene where two NYPD officers were shot, Saturday, Dec. 20, 2014 in the Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood of the Brooklyn borough of New York. Police said an armed man walked up to two officers sitting inside the patrol car and opened fire before running into a nearby subway station and committing suicide. Both police officers were killed.

New York City: More Gun Control, More Shootings

In January 2013, one month after the heinous attack on Sandy Hook Elementary School, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo (D) successfully pressed for the SAFE Act, a massive body of gun control legislation aimed at curbing violent crime. Just two years later, however, the number of shootings and murders have increased.
