Last season, San Francisco 49er Eric Reed joined Colin Kaepernick to take a knee during the playing of the national anthem at the start of each game. At the close of the season, Reed announced that he would stand to honor the anthem and would end his protest starting this season. Reed has now confirmed his decision and said that even the unrest in Charlottesville would not change his mind.
