On June 6, Reverend Michael Pfleger listed recent shootings in heavily gun-controlled Chicago then said the NRA “will pay pay for the murder of our children.”

On June 5, the Courier Post reported that Everytown for Gun Safety supporter Jane Shivas, who is also executive director of the New Jersey Coalition for Battered Women, responded to the stabbing death of New Jersey’s Carol Bowne by saying, “We will never know whether Carol would be alive today if she had received her gun permit and purchased a gun.”

On April 21, Carol Bowne from Berlin Township, NJ, applied for a license to own a handgun, which she wanted to protect herself from a former boyfriend against whom she had a restraining order.

On June 2 a Detroit woman emptied her pistol on would-be carjackers after she saw them coming at her with a gun. Afterward she said it’s time “to take back this city from the thugs.”

On June 2, three armed men allegedly targeted a business in which the clerk was armed as well. The clerk saw the three would-be robbers coming, had his gun at the ready, and shot the first of the suspects as soon as he entered the store.

With the Connecticut General Assembly scheduled to adjourn at midnight Wednesday, Gabby Giffords’ gun confiscation push is in danger of not even getting discussion, much less a vote.

On May 31, an armed citizen pulled his own gun and opened fire on an alleged attacker inside a Georgia liquor store, thereby ending a would-be mass shooting.

Following a Memorial Day Weekend during which 12 people shot and killed and 43 more were wounded, Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel said a large part of the solution to the problem is more gun control.

Concealed carry permit applications are surging in states like North Carolina, as they have been surging nationally under Obama, “amid safety fears.”
