Spotify and eight other app developers and associations have sent a letter to Margrethe Vestager, the executive vice president of the EU Commission, urging her to take legal action against Apple’s app distribution methods. The letter states that “Apple benefits from a monopoly position over its mobile ecosystem and extracts exorbitant rents from app developers who have no choice but to remain on the App Store to reach European consumers.”

Dispatchers at the Summit County 911 Center have reportedly been fielding huge numbers of automated notifications from local skiers’ iPhones and Apple Watches at the county’s four ski areas last weekend. New iPhones feature “crash detection” and “fall detection” that automatically call 911 when the device thinks its user has been in a car wreck or other accident, which skiing apparently sets off as well.

Report: Elon Musk Says Apple Has ‘Mostly Stopped Advertising’ on Twitter, Was Top Advertiser in Q1

A new report reveals that Apple was Twitter’s biggest advertiser in Q1 2022, accounting for almost $50 million in revenue. Elon Musk now claims Tim Cook’s company has “mostly stopped advertising” on Twitter, a move that comes during the busy holiday shopping season.  The loss of such a major customer could be a problem for Musk’s Twitter before even taking into account Apple’s threat to drop the platform from the App Store.

Woke Revolt: Apple Employees Protest Against Plans to Return to Office – Again

Apple employees have reportedly begun petitioning against the tech giant’s plans to demand workers return to offices for three days a week starting next month. Apple employees have mounted repeated protests against returning to the office. The employee group “Apple Together” labeled the woke company racist, writing that returning to the office “will make Apple younger, whiter, more male-dominated, more neuro-normative, more able-bodied, in short, it will lead to privileges deciding who can work for Apple, not who’d be the best fit.
