Syrian Electronic Army Hacks Washington Post: ‘The Media Is Always Lying’

The Washington Post’s mobile website was briefly hacked by the Syrian Electronic Army on Thursday. Visitors were greeted with pop-up messages containing anti-U.S. and anti-Saudi propaganda, such as “US govt is training the terrorists to kill more Syrians” and “Saudi Arabia and its allies are killing hundreds of Yemens people everyday!”

Washington Post: ‘Of Course the Media Should Report on Clinton Cash’

Chris Cillizza at the Washington Post responds to left-wing blowback against the upcoming book Clinton Cash: The Untold Story of How and Why Foreign Governments and Businesses Helped Make Bill and Hillary Rich by three-time New York Times bestselling investigative journalist (and Breitbart News Senior Editor-at-Large) Peter Schweizer. WaPo Hypes Mexican Cartel, Gets it Wrong

As the once relatively quiet Mexican state of Jalisco becomes battleground of brazen attacks between cartel gunmen and police, it seems that a major news outlet, the Washington Post, may have jumped the gun in claiming that Cartel Jalisco Nueva Generacion is becoming the most powerful crime syndicate in Mexico.

The Old Gringo: Jeb Strives for Unearned Hispanic Identity

The voter registration error is a bizarre one. Had the New York Times not uncovered it, it wouldn’t have helped or harmed his presidential hopes. Unlike Elizabeth Warren’s use of Native American identity on job applications, there appears to be no visible benefit to the eldest Bush son save his own amusement (and that of his family, apparently). This usurpation has been going on for years.

Egypt Reveals $45 Billion Plan to Build New Desert Capital, Replacing Cairo

Over the weekend, Egypt unveiled plans to build a wholly new capital. The new city would lie somewhere to Cairo’s east, closer to the Red Sea. At the end of January, the Obama administration announced the next step in a long process that could result in the exploration and ultimate extraction of oil-and-gas resources of the U.S. mid-Atlantic—something the Outer Continental Shelf (OCS) Governors Coalition supports. On March 30, the 60-day comment period ends. If everything goes well, we could see new American resources on the market in twenty years.

WaPo Interview: Sisi Demands Obama ‘Support the Popular Will of Egyptians’

Since the army took power from Mohamed Morsi in 2013 with popular support, Egyptian President Abdel Fatah al-Sissi says he’s been fighting to keep the forces of anarchy at bay. On the eve of a large investment conference this weekend, he invited The Washington Post’s Lally Weymouth to the massive white presidential palace for a conversation about Egypt’s problematic relationship with Washington, how to defeat the Islamic State, and his fears and hopes for his country.

WaPo: Guns May Serve Defensive Purpose, but CDC Must Confirm

On January 16, The Washington Post (WaPo) reported that guns may serve a defensive purpose—that defensive gun uses may be slightly higher than 3 million each year—but we will not know until the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) begin their research into guns as a public health issue.

NYT: Dismal Community College Graduation Rates, Not Cost, The Real Problem

The White House claimed last week that President Barack Obama’s proposed “free” community college for everyone proposal would cost U.S. taxpayers at least $60 billion over the next 10 years were it to pass. But as the New York Times pointed out on Friday, community college is already tuition-free for millions of students.
