St. Louis Gangbangers Allegedly Throw Molotov Cocktail into Elderly Woman’s Car on Her Way to Church

A 79-year-old St. Louis woman on her way to church barely escaped with her life when three gangbangers drove up next to her car on the street and allegedly threw a Molotov cocktail into her backseat, setting the car ablaze.

The elderly victim, who was able to escape her blazing SUV after the confrontation, told police that the assailant sitting in the rear seat of the attackers’ vehicle yelled out, “What’s up, OG, don’t get too hot” before throwing the firebomb into her vehicle, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported.

St. Louis Second Ward Democratic committeeman Larry Middlebrook, who lives near where the woman’s SUV wound up burning to a cinder, told the media that the elderly woman tried to get back into her flaming SUV to retrieve her Bible but was persuaded not to as the car burned in front of her.

“Can you imagine your mother, grandparent, or someone on their way to church, and someone throw an explosive in their car?” committeeman Middlebrook asked the media.

St. Louis City alderwoman Dionne Flowers said the victim told police that three men aged in the early 20s were in the attackers’ car, and the one who threw the incendiary device at her had tightly braided hair.

Alderwoman Flowers also noted that the attackers’ car sported Illinois license plates.

St. Louis police report that the bomb and arson squad is investigating the incident.
