Teen Busted with Alleged $800K of Heroin at Texas Border

A 19-year-old male from Weslaco, Texas was arrested after $800K of heroin was allegedly found by U.S. Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) officers in the young man’s jeep this week, according to public statements obtained by Breitbart Texas.

In a press release obtained by Breitbart Texas, Efrain Solis, Jr., the Port Director for Hidalgo, Pharr and Anzalduas, Texas said, “This well concealed load of hard narcotics was discovered by our frontline officers due to great tenacity and outstanding commitment towards helping keep dangerous drugs out of our communities.”

After crossing the Pharr-Reynosa International Bridge from Mexico, the CBP became suspicious of the jeep driven by the young U.S. citizen arriving from Mexico, according to reports.  After he presented his birth certificate and identification, he was referred to a secondary inspection station according to the press release. Using standard investigation techniques and non-invasive imaging systems, the officers discovered six packages of drugs allegedly determined to be heroin weighing 8.03 pounds and valued at $803,000.

The officers seized the drugs and the 2010 Jeep Liberty and turned the suspect, whose name has not yet been released over to Homeland Security Investigations for further investigations, according to the release.

A response to a request from Breitbart Texas for additional information was not immediately available.
