HIV-Positive Texas Woman Assaults Walmart Employee, Threatens to Infect Him With Virus

HOUSTON, Texas — A woman who attempted to steal frozen dinners from a Walmart in Texas threatened to give store employees HIV.

25-year-old Diamond Lawrence tried to steal $11 worth of food from the Forest Lane-based store, according to the New York Daily News.

A Walmart employee reportedly followed her out of the store and asked her to come back inside. Lawrence then attacked the worker, threatening to infect him with the sexually transmitted disease HIV. “I can infect whomever I please,” Lawrence apparently said to the employee.

NBC Dallas-Fort Worth reported that the 25-year-old was wearing a wristband that identified her as having the virus.

She also hit the worker in the face and scratched his neck. Police say that she was trying to draw his blood in order to expose him to HIV.

“Your welcome,” she said once the assault was complete.

Walmart does not prosecute for small shoplifting incidents, according to NBC. The store simply asked Lawrence to never return.

However, Lawrence wound up in jail anyways since she had two outstanding arrest warrants — for public intoxication and using a fake driver’s license — at the time of the incident.
