Saint Louis County Police Department is reporting an active manhunt after a University City Police Officer was shot.
Through social media, the police agency confirmed that one officer had been shot and his condition was unknown. It was not clear if the shooting was related to the protests taking place in Ferguson, Missouri, which is just 20 minutes north from University City.
In Ferguson anarchy continues to reign as rioters continue to fire weapons, loot, set fire to buildings, and vandalize other property including various police cars that have been torched.
Saint Louis County Police had previously reported heavy automatic gunfire in Ferguson and shortly after the Federal Aviation Administration issued a press release shutting down commercial air traffic.
