Two commanders with Los Zetas who appear to be behind most of the kidnapping and extortion activity in the border city of Nuevo Laredo and the Tamaulipas State Capital of Ciudad Victoria are now behind bars.

Mexico’s Federal Police arrested Sarahi “La Hysteria” Garza Cadena during a traffic stop this past week in the border city of Nuevo Laredo. She was traveling in a car with two of her henchmen. Authorities recovered some weapons, a grenade, 15 kilograms of marijuana and communication equipment during the arrest, information released to Breitbart Texas by the Tamaulipas government revealed.

The second arrest was executed by the Mexican Army in Ciudad Victoria, the State Capital of Tamaulipas. A convoy of soldiers stopped Julio Santiago “El Bastardo” Collazo Perez  who was riding in an SUV with two of his henchmen and two women, Breitbart Texas’ sources with the Tamaulipas government revealed.

Both Ciudad Victoria and Nuevo Laredo have long been considered Zeta strongholds where the cartel associates are able to freely roam the streets with complete impunity and carry out their criminal activities. According to Tamaulipas officials both Garza and Collazo had been leading extortion and kidnapping rings in their respective areas.

Ciudad Victoria is the capital of Tamaulipas. As Breitbart Texas has previously reported, two recent governors, Tomas Yarrington and Eugenio Hernandez, along with several other politicians have been implicated in money laundering accusations including taking bribes from the Zetas in order to grant them immunity. While the allegations against Hernandez remain civil in nature, Yarrington has been indicted under multiple money laundering and drug trafficking charges and is considered a fugitive.
