A Rhode Island man who was previously convicted of a felony was arrested on charges of illegally possessing guns and explosives. The man was seen posing with weapons in photos he published on Facebook. Police were tipped off about the photos.
The man, Nicholas Colacone, age 36, was charged last week with possession of a firearm by a violent criminal, possession of a schedule 1 controlled explosive, possession of a weapon that was not a firearm and possession of less than $500 of class C fireworks, according to public records obtained by Breitbart Texas.
Police told WPRI TV that Colacone had numerous Nazi and while supremacist flags and banners in his apartment. They also found eighteen improvised explosive devices.
He is seen in court with Nazi images tattooed on his arms.
Public records reveal Calacone has an extensive misdemeanor and felony criminal record for violent crimes and drug possession.
WPRI reported the following items that were seized by the Johnston, RI, police department:
- 2 rifles
- A shotgun
- 2 revolvers
- A bulletproof vest
- Brass knuckles
- Illegal drugs
The Johnston Police Department reported they received a tip about Calacone’s possession of weapons on their Facebook page.
Calacone’s felony conviction came from a charge in 2000 of manufacturing and delivery of a schedule I and II controlled substance. He received a suspended sentence of one year and was placed on probation for three years, according to Rhode Island public records obtained by Breitbart Texas.
State and Federal law prohibit convicted felons from owning or possessing firearms and other related items. Calacone could face possible federal charges as well.
