A Texas woman and her boyfriend face federal charges for using a two-year-old girl from the daycare where the woman worked to take pornographic photos.
Court records obtained by Breitbart Texas don’t identify the daycare center, however, they did allege that Christina Gomez from Corpus Christi and her boyfriend Mathew Harbin from the border city of Brownsville had been producing pornographic photos using children between two and three-years old and sharing them online.
On Wednesday, Cortez went before U.S. Magistrate Judge Jason Libby, who formally charged her with production and distribution of child pornography. Harbin currently sits in state jail on a related charge and will go before Libby at a later date.
The case against Cortez and Harbin began on December 2014 when a police officer in Kent County, England worked a case to track down people sharing child pornography. One of those individuals that the officer found used the email dirtysickmind@yahoo.com.
The user of the email account, later identified as Harbin, allegedly sent the police officer some regular photos of a young girl about two-years-old asking the undercover officer if he wanted to trade. Soon after the initial contact, the officer received various photos of the young girl nude and other pornographic photos where Cortez allegedly fondles the baby’s vagina.
Upon learning that Harbin resided in South Texas, the police officer contacted agents with Homeland Security Investigations, who then began to track down the suspect. The agents obtained Harbin’s emails through a court order and learned about the communications that he had been having with Cortez.
The two engaged in sexual-themed conversations, and often talked about engaging in sexual relations with the children at the daycare in what was called “2 ½,” the criminal complaint revealed.
