The infamous Mexican drug lord Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman continued fame has made turned the fugitive capo into a household name world wide.

Since his brazen escape from a maximum security prison in Mexico, Guzman–the current head of the Sinaloa Cartel, has become an underground hero of sorts.

Most recently the rap artist The Game and the famed DJ Skrillex teamed up to release a song praising he exploits of Guzman.

“El Chapo, I am the God … You know I get the kilos … You soy el Dios … ,” the artists praise the drug lord in the lyrics of their recently released song.

While Guzman has been the topic of many regional songs in Mexico in the United States this is the second hip hop song that features the moustachoued capo. Three years ago Gucci Mane released a similar song called “El Chapo” where he sings “all I want to be is El Chapo.”

In addition to moving into mainstream music, El Chapo has now become one of the most popular costumes for Halloween. In Mexico, the first run of the costume has already run out forcing the company called El Coco which sells its costumes in both the U.S. and in Mexico to scramble to produce more, Mexico’s El Universal reported.

The costume features a mask in the likeness of the drug lord and a black and white stripped costume similar to the old prison garbs depicted in old movies.

As reported in Breitbart Texas, El Chapo’s escape has been praised by clergymen as well as many citizens who have grown displeased with the current Mexican government. The brazen escape by the drug lord who managed to get a mile long tunnel built under a maximum security prison has been seen as a slap in the face of Mexican authorities. However new developments point to the guards playing computer games instead of checking the video feed from the cells.

Despite the  lighthearted costume and the catchy tunes, the Sinaloa Cartel continues to be considered by U.S. law enforcement as the most powerful cartel with its area of influence taking up most of the United States, Breitbart Texas reported.
