A woman in Corpus Christi, Texas, was jailed on Friday after she allegedly stabbed her common-law husband in the hand while he refused to get out of bed.
Police were sent to the home of Melinda Hinojosa, 39, after a report of a domestic disturbance, the Associate Press reported. In addition to finding the man who had been stabbed in his left hand, police discovered he had been hit on the head with a pot and punched in the face at least three times.
Hinojosa was charged with aggravated assault. She is now jailed in the Nueces County Jail pending a bond of $30,000.
Her husband declined medical treatment.
