Pop superstar Adele paused her performance at the Arena di Verona in Verona, Italy Sunday night to scold an audience member for filming the concert.
“I want to tell that lady as well, can you stop filming me with a video camera?”Adele told off the culprit directly as the audience applauded. “Because I’m really here in real life, you can enjoy it in real life, rather than through your camera.”
The moment was captured, ironically, by another audience member who was recording the show.
“Can you take your tripod down?” Adele asked. “This isn’t a DVD, this is a real show. I’d really like you to enjoy my show because there’s lots of people outside that couldn’t come in.”
It didn’t take long for Adele fans to jump on social media and express their gratitude toward the English superstar.
I commend @adele for calling out the rude concertgoer with the recording equipment. How'd she get a tripod and prof camera into the venue??

What Adele did, she was standing up for her fans who couldn't attend to her show, but they were outside of the venue just to hear her.

Big shoutout to @Adele for telling that woman to stop recording all of her show! 👏🏻Completely agree, "it's not a DVD!" #soznotsoz ✊🏻

Adele is apparently pretty business-savvy. Her last album, 25, sold 2.3 million copies in the U.S. in just three days. At 28 years old, the Skyfall singer has every reason to command respect — especially after she reportedly signed a new record-breaking, multi-album, $90 million recording deal with Sony.
Judging from fan reaction on social media, it appears that publicly berating a brazenly rude audience member on behalf of her fans is a good move for Adele’s brand. And given that ticket prices for Adele’s world tour are exorbitantly expensive and hard to come by, the callout at Sunday’s concert is apparently one more in the win column for the reigning British pop queen.
