Video: Baton Rouge Cop Killer Visited Houston and Dallas Before Ambush

HOUSTON, Texas — The executioner of the three Baton Rouge police officers who wounded three other officers was in Houston and Dallas right before his attack.

Gavin Long of Kansas City, Missouri, gunned down the officers near the Baton Rouge Police Department headquarters on Sunday, as reported by Breitbart News.

“When you got knowledge, you got the recipe for success,” he said as he drove through a black neighborhood in Houston before the murders. He said that white people were buying his book but he wanted “his people” to have a copy.

Long told those he gave the book to that he wrote it when he was in Africa. It was about “holistic health” and “black power,” he said, and he kept referring to the book as “powerful sh*t.”

Long discovered Islam when he was in Africa. He made a YouTube video where he bragged about being affiliated with the Nation of Islam.

“Cosmo Sedenpenra” as Long called himself, has a long history of making videos. Several of them are called “Convos with Cosmo.” Many of them are still posted on YouTube.

The Louisiana State Police posted on their Facebook page, “We are building a timeline from approximately 8:40 Sunday morning, and are working backwards to determine where the suspect has been, who he may have associated or spoken with, and if anyone else was involved in this assault or had advance knowledge of his intentions.”

At approximately 8:40 a.m., officers with the Baton Rouge Police Department and local departments were at a convenience store when they noticed an individual wearing all black holding a rifle and standing behind a beauty supply store. Shots were fired and within four minutes, reports were received that there were officers down at the scene. After more shots were fired, the suspect was seen standing near a car wash near the convenience store. EMS arrived at the scene at 8:48 a.m. Officers engaged the suspect and he died at the scene. Louisiana State Police and other law enforcement agencies secured the area and attempted to identify other suspects and threats.

The law enforcement organization is leading the investigation and while they “are confident that this suspect was the only shooter at the scene actively involved in the attack,” “[w]hether others may have been involved in some other fashion remains to be determined.” The Louisiana State Police also posted, “We do believe the suspect had been in our community for at least several days.”

The department recovered a Chevy Malibu rental from Missouri from the scene. In their Facebook post they added, “We are working to determine where the car has been and are continuing to process it for evidence.”

The Louisiana State Police say they are “examining the social media footprint of the suspect” and acknowledged that “It appears that he used social media extensively.”

As reported by Jerome Hudson for Breitbart News, “Long left behind a lengthy, twisted history of encouraging violence and anti-American sentiments on social media.” He was very active on Twitter and Instagram.

Just a few days before he shot the Louisiana officers, Long urged his followers to “stand up,” saying, “Violence is not THE answer (its a answer), but at what point do you stand up so that your people dont become the Native Americans… EXTINCT?”

Hudson wrote that many of Long’s social media posts warned of a future revolution between black people and the federal government. He also called the Dallas police sniper, Micah X. Johnson “one of us.” Breitbart Texas reported that Johnson was a member of the Houston New Black Panther Party.
