Texas Man Survives Fall into Trash Compactor

A Texas man survived a fall into a trash compactor after his sleeping body was hauled into one by a garbage truck.

The man was sleeping on top of a dumpster in Wichita Falls when a garbage truck scooped up his body along with the trash into the truck, compacted it, and took it to a transfer station, The Associated Press reported.

Sanitation workers at the Wichita Falls transfer station saw a body fall from the truck into a garbage pit.

Emergency personnel rescued the man after they lowered a basket into the garbage pit to retrieve him.

The man, who is unidentified but in his 60s, was taken to a hospital for evaluation.
