Previously Deported Sex Offender Caught After Sneaking Across Border

U.S. Border Patrol agents operating in southern California stopped another previously deported child rapist from being traveling further into the country.

The agents, assigned to the El Centro station, witnessed a man walking northward from the International Border at about 8 p.m. on Saturday night. The agents caught up with the man and determined he had illegally crossed the border. He was arrested and placed into custody according to information obtained by Breitbart Texas from U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials.

The agents took the man to the Border Patrol station for processing. They determined he was a 37-year-old Mexican national. A records check revealed the Mexican man had been deported from the United States in 2002. The deportation followed his conviction in a California court for having sex with a minor. He was sentenced to only 162 days in a California jail before being deported.

“Border Patrol agents routinely encounter individuals with serious criminal histories like this and work diligently to ensure they can do no more harm to those in our community,” Assistant Chief Patrol Agent David S. Kim said in a written statement released on Tuesday.

The man now faces a felony charge of Re-Entry After Removal as a convicted sex offender.

Border Patrol officials in the El Centro Sector reported the man is the first sex offender to be arrested in this sector during FY 2017 which began on October 1. However, Breitbart Texas has reported extensively on the numbers of previously deported sex offenders captured by Border Patrol agents working in other sectors along our nation’s borders.

Just two weeks ago, agents in the El Centro Sector captured a 41-year-old Guatemalan man who was deported in 2011 following an 8-year sentence for Criminal Sexual Contact – First Degree Penetration.

On August 20, El Centro Border Patrol agents napped another man walking northward from the International Border. This one was a 48-year-old man from El Salvador who spent two years in a California prison following a conviction of assault to commit rape. That man was also processed for prosecution for illegal re-entry by a sex offender.

Breitbart Texas has reported extensively at how freely previously deported sex offenders return to illegally enter the United States after deportation. In the El Centro Sector alone, U.S. Border Patrol agents have arrested 14 previously-convicted and deported sex offenders who have illegally re-entered.
