Authorities arrested an alleged member of the notoriously violent MS-13 street gang after receiving a tip from the public.
Butler County Sheriff Richard K. Jones, who has made national headlines for his tough stances on immigration, said on Monday that the man in custody has ties to the violent MS-13 street gang, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer.
Law enforcement officers arrested William Bragg II, 26, of Dayton during a traffic stop after agents with BURN (Butler County Undercover Regional Narcotics) received a tip that he was trafficking narcotics.
Authorities reportedly found heroin and methamphetamine on Bragg during the stop and thousands of dollars in cash with drug paraphernalia and a “large amount of gang paraphernalia,” upon executing a search warrant at his temporary residence.
“This is in our backyard and I don’t want it here. It is not ok to set up camp and traffic drugs in this county or bring gangs and the violence that follows,” Sheriff Jones said. “This tip led to a quick arrest and apprehension and that will continue. With other agencies like Hamilton and Middletown coming together in a joint taskforce, we are able to accomplish more arrests like this one. Tell your friends and family if they bring drugs or gang affiliations here, we will put them behind bars.”
Bragg is currently facing two felony drug possession charges although the post from Butler County Sheriff’s Office says that more charges could be forthcoming during the grand jury process.
