A pregnant, 13-year-old from South Carolina remains missing after disappearing with her boyfriend late last week, possibly heading “back to Mexico.”

The five-and-a-half-month pregnant 13-year-old had been staying at a shelter for neglected, abandoned, or abused children called Helping Hands, reports WLTX19 in Columbia, South Carolina.

On April 27, the middle school student, Irma Orozco-Razo, told her friends on the school bus that she was going to the nearby McDonalds to meet her boyfriend and they were going to go back to Mexico. The girl was dropped off at Kennedy Middle School, but she did not go into the school, the local outlet reported.

A statement obtained from the City of Aiken Police Department confirmed that law enforcement officers were called on Thursday and told that the young teen had run away. The young teen is 5-feet-1-inches tall and weighs 132 pounds. In an interview with Breitbart Texas, Aiken Police Department Captain Maryann Burgess said, “Our concern is that she is safe and healthy.”

Her boyfriend has been identified as 18-year-old Jose Armando Alcazar-Augustin. Aiken Public Safety officers are continuing their search for the 13-year-old pregnant girl on Wednesday.

Officials investigating the case believe that Orozco-Razo is with her boyfriend and she is pregnant with his child. Officers reviewed video at the local McDonalds restaurant but did not find any video evidence she arrived at that facility.

“So far, we have not been able to actually confirm that she is actually with the man,” Burgess said. “We have reviewed video evidence from several tips of possible sightings. So far, we haven’t seen her or him.”

Burgess said both the girl and the man may be illegal aliens, but they have not been able to confirm. She said they received a tip that the girl may have boarded a Tornado Bus Company bus, but that also has not been confirmed. The captain said she just returned from reviewing video at the bus terminal and could not find any information to confirm the sighting.

Tornado Bus Company is a Dallas, Texas, based company that specializes in providing transportation from the U.S.-Mexico Border areas to various locations around the country, Burges explained.

“We hope someone can spot the girl and let us know so we can make sure she is okay,” Burgess concluded. She told Breitbart Texas they have no history of him being physically abusive with the girl. However, the girl is below the age of legal consent.

Children aged 15 and younger are not legally able to give legal consent to sex in South Carolina. It is illegal for an adult over the age of 18 years to have sex with a minor.

Responding to an inquiry from Breitbart Texas, Aiken County Sheriff’s Office Captain Eric Abdullah said that Alcazar-Augustin has two outstanding warrants for criminal sexual misconduct. The warrants stemmed from a February investigation. Captain Abdullah could not say if that case involved the missing girl.

Help in locating the girl has been requested. Anyone who may have seen her or the pair have been asked to call Crimestoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC. The names of callers will be kept anonymous, and anyone with information may be eligible for a $1,000 award.
