WATCH: Four South Carolina Cops Shot Following Domestic Violence Call

An assailant allegedly shot four South Carolina law enforcement officers following a domestic violence call. The alleged attacker was also shot following an extensive manhunt. One officer is listed in “very critical condition.”

York County, South Carolina sheriff’s deputies responded to a domestic violence call at about 10 p.m. Monday night. The suspect, later identified as 47-year-old Christian Thomas McCall, fled the scene on foot before the deputies arrived, York County Sheriff’s Office Public Information Officer Trent Farris told reporters Tuesday morning during a press conference live-streamed on Facebook.

“At that point, York County K-9 units were called out to track the suspect,” Farris stated. “At 1:07, we believe the suspect fired shots striking one of our K-9 unit officers.”

Another deputy quickly transported the wounded K-9 officer to a local hospital in the back of his patrol vehicle. Police officers from numerous agencies responded and joined in the manhunt for McCall. “The bloodhound was not injured,” Farris stated.

The search continued until about 3:30AM when shots again rang out. McCall allegedly hit three additional law enforcement officers. Those included two deputies and a York Police Department officer. All three are members of the York County SWAT team, Farris said. A Life Flight helicopter transported two of the wounded officers to a hospital located in Charlotte, North Carolina. An ambulance transported the third, Farris explained.

During the engagement, officers shot McCall. An ambulance also transported the suspect to a hospital in Charlotte.

“One of the officers is out of surgery and in recovery at this time,” Deputy Farris stated. “The others at some point in surgery — either awaiting surgery or in surgery at this time.”

“One officer was critically wounded and his situation is very critical at this time,” he continued. “We really could use your thoughts and prayers for that officer, his family, and all of the members of the York County Sheriff’s Office family.”

McCall “sustained gunshot wounds and was taken to the hospital” where he is currently in surgery.

Farris said he was not aware of the woman’s condition.

York County is located a few miles southwest of Charlotte.
