U.S. and Russian Satellites Collide In Space Above Syria

Belfast Telegraph: NASA says a US satellite smashed into a defunct Russian satellite at high speed over Siberia earlier this week, producing a massive cloud of debris.



The incident is the first known collision of its kind, despite the fact that around 18,000 man-made objects are in orbit around the Earth.
