NYDN: In the weeks after Levy was killed in Washington’s Rock Creek Park on May 1, 2001, Guandique twice came up behind female joggers with a knife, but both women fought him off and fled. Guandique, 27, pleaded guilty to the assaults but insisted he knew nothing of Levy’s death. He passed a lie detector test, and investigators were hampered by a lack of DNA. It is unclear what new evidence there is.
