KVUE: “I believe the travel I do is essential,” said US Senator Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX), R-Texas, when asked whether he would change his travel habits in light of the federal data first reported by Politico.
Texas taxpayers helped foot the bill for the $152,000 Cornyn’s spent on chartered and commercial jets during the first half of 2009. In comparison, fellow Texas US Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison spent $88,000.
