The quarter-century tradition appeared headed to being broken tonight. The reading of the Christmas story from the Bible was not to be included in the city of Maryville’s “Illumination of the Greenbelt” yuletide celebration.
Pam Arnett, public information officer for the city, said Mayor Tom Taylor received a call last week from an individual concerned about the reading of a biblical passage.
