Think Tank: NHS Should Cut More Than 30k Hospital Beds to Improve Patient Care, Save Money

The Press Association: The NHS should cut more than a quarter of hospital beds in London to save cash and improve patient care, a thinktank has said.

Across the country, 30,000 beds should be expected to close, it said. The move would save money and create competition which would drive up standards, according to Reform.

The centre-right thinktank also called on the Government and opposition parties to stop interfering in local decision-making about NHS ward closures.
