South Park Creators to Release Book of Mormon Musical on Broadway

KSTU: The animated series South Park has been criticized in the past for its take on Scientology, Islam, and the LDS Church. And the LDS Church’s Book of Mormon is said to be their next venture, as it will be reenacted as a Broadway musical — no doubt to be in the crosshairs of critics from Utah who share the LDS faith. Creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone have poked fun at Mormons several times. There was the 1997 movie “Orgasmo,” about an LDS missionary who gets tangled up in the adult film industry. And also the South Park episode titled: “All about the Mormons,” aired in 2003.
