Recycled Hanesbrands Pantyhose To Absorb Gulf Coast Oil

WXII: Winston-Salem-based Hanesbrands Inc. is donating 50,000 pairs of pantyhose to be used to make oil-absorbing hair booms to fight the Gulf Coast oil spill.

The pantyhose will be stuffed with human and animal hair to make booms that will absorb and trap the oil, the company said Thursday afternoon. The oil is then squeezed out of the boom, which can then be reused to collect more oil.
