Is Congress Breaking Laws They Passed?

Fox News: In 2007, a new sheriff got elected in Washington. The Democratic Party took control of the House the following January, and on their second day in power, the Democrats adopted something called “PAYGO,” or pay as you go.

Unlike during the Bush administration, lawmakers promised to be fiscally responsible, and the next time Congress wanted to spend money it promised to cut spending elsewhere or raise taxes but not add to the deficit.

Well guess what? Congress ignored PAYGO 12 times in the last Congress and at least three times in this one, adding more than $1 trillion to the deficit.
