JournoList: Spencer Ackerman Using His 'If You Oppose Us You're Racist' Argument

In this video from August 2009, JournoList member Spencer Ackerman speaks to a group in a bar with fellow JournoList member Matthew Iglesias looking on. He discusses the origin of the term “Juice Box Mafia”, which has been used to describe a group of columnists who oppose Israel’s aggressive stance against Hamas.

He sums it up by saying: “It’s come to mean that you support a pro-peace, pro-Israel foreign policy and people who are basically ignorant or racist who oppose you for it.”

It has recently been revealed that Ackerman was in favor of falsely labeling Fred Barnes as a racist to keep conservatives from discussing the Jeremiah Wright story in the 2008 presidential campaign. He discussed this strategy with his fellow liberal reporters on the JournoList e-mail group.
