Apple Inc. and Google Inc. will be confronted by U.S. Senator Sen. Al Franken (D-MN) and other lawmakers tomorrow over the handling of user-location data in a hearing that may accelerate efforts to enact privacy rules for smartphones and tablet computers. Executives will testify at a Senate Judiciary subcommittee hearing in Washington led by Franken, a Minnesota Democrat.
