Despite the best efforts of ABC News’ Jake Tapper to get a straight answer from Jay Carney about Jimmy Hoffa’s controversial statements when introducing the president at a Detroit Labor Day rally, the press secretary kept mum on the issue, sticking with boiler plate talking point responses. Tapper asks “Is this the new standard?” when related to people introducing the president or any of the GOP candidates? Carney refused to comment.
