Appearing on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) defends her inability to pass a budget when she was Speaker of the House by claiming “Republicans would have filibustered it.”
Of course, the House of Representatives have no filibuster rules so she could have easily passed a budget if she wanted to. Furthermore, it is our understanding of Senate Rules that budgets are not subject to the filibuster rule.
