Anti-Wall Street protesters clashed with cops throughout the day at Zuccotti Park after attempting to march toward the New York Stock Exchange this morning, forcing cops to make nearly 200 arrests. The protest began this morning as part of a massive citywide demonstration marking two months since the Occupy Wall Street movement began. It had begun peacefully, but quickly grew tense and escalated as cops made arrested dozens of demonstrators who had tried to jump over barricades near Wall Street. Others were cuffed and hauled off after they sat on the ground in defiance after cops had ordered them to scatter. Seven cops were injured. Four cops were hurt when a demonstrator threw liquid — possibly vinegar — at their faces.
