Will Cars No Longer Need Drivers?

University of Texas computer science professor and researcher Peter Stone has hatched a plan to create autonomous driverless cars omniscient of nearby vehicles, directions and traffic situations that will allow us to hang out in the back seat and get work done. Stone says that 48 hours per year in traffic, adding up to more than $5 billion in fuel and opportunity costs, and that this idea will safely take care of that.
