Santorum: JFK 'Church And State' Speech Makes Me Throw Up

Sen. Rick Santorum vented to ABC’s George Stephanopoulos that then-candidate John F. Kennedy’s famous speech about his Catholic faith and its role in the public arena makes him want to “throw up.”Kennedy’s remarks in the speech that incensed the Pennsylvania Senator were that “the separation of church and state is absolute.” Santorum explained that “to say that people of faith have no role in the public square, you bet that makes you throw up. What kind of country do we live in that says only people of non-faith can live in the public square and make their case? That makes me throw up.”
