Mitt Romney’s attempt to appeal to the “NASCAR dad” vote at the Daytona 500 on Sunday may have backfired.Romney said that he doesn’t follow the standings “as closely as some of the most ardent fans,” but that he has “some friends who are NASCAR team owners.”
