MD Dems Break Procedure to Push Easter Weekend Gun Grab

Republican Delegate Mike Smigiel described to Breitbart News’ Larry O’Connor Monday morning about the shenanigans pulled over the Easter weekend by Democrats in the Maryland House Judiciary committee. Smigiel offered an amendment to Governor O’Malley’s gun grabbing legislation that would have changed the language in S.B. 281 to protect gun owners by punishing criminals who steal guns. After a vote was cast in the Judiciary Committee accepting the amendment, the Democrats took a quick recess and mounted a push to try to erase Smigiel’s amendment. The Chair called the committee meeting back to order and issued an unprecedented, out-of-procedure “do-over” vote and reversed the confirmation of Smigiel’s amendment.
