Postal Workers Scared To Deliver In Brooklyn

PIX11: “We deliver for you.” That is the slogan for the United States Postal Service. However, residents in Brownsville, Brooklyn say their snail mail is taking longer than usual to be delivered or in some cases, not at all. One worker at the Brownsville post office told the NY Post that some of the workers are too scared to deliver the mail to certain areas of the neighborhood, which is full of crime. Over the weekend, 50 angry residents protested outside the post office saying they demand better service. They say they understand this is a high crime area, but don’t accept that as an excuse for poor services. According to the NYPD, there have been three murders, 14 rapes, 120 robberies and 174 assaults since January 1st of this year in this particular neighborhood. Now, State Senator Eric Adams is calling on the Postal Service to launch an investigation into why their is such poor service in this neighborhood.
