Kerry: 'Majority' Of Rebels Not Al Qaeda

Secretary of State John Kerry told the House Foreign Affairs Committee on Wednesday that although concerns about radical Islamists being apart of the Syrian rebels is justified, they are not a majority of the rebel forces. Kerry explained that there were several groups including “moderates” that make up the Syrian forces. “Some of them fight each other,” Kerry said, “even now.” The Secretary said that about 25% of the rebel forces are “radical” and that other countries have had success helping the rebels by funneling resources to the commander of what is believed to be the “moderate” forces.
