Palin Defends 'Duck Dynasty' Star Phil Robertson for Reciting the Gospel, Says A&E Slogan is 'Be Stupid'

On Thursday’s broadcast of Fox News Channel’s “Hannity,” former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin defends embattled “Duck Dynasty” star Phil Robertson and attacks A&E for its disciplinary action against Robertson:

“What Phil was saying – he was reciting part of the gospel,” Palin said. “The liberal left must feel the gospel then is insulting and offensive because Phil was repeating what’s in the Bible. And what Phil went on to say all sins are equal and we all sin. So we all need a savior. And I say that at this time, this Christmas season, now is the time where, like the three wise men we can seek our savior, find the savior and then our problems will be solved. That’s what Phil was saying.”

“My reaction, to A&E, again is they — their new slogan, ‘be original’ does translate to ‘be stupid,’” Palin continued,” because if they have a hypocritical view of what is acceptable and not acceptable – well that is going to offend the majority of Americans. The bottom line, Sean, is A&E has chosen to marginalize and tried to stifle the freedom of someone who is filled with faith in the gospel, that being Phil from ‘Duck Dynasty.’ And Americans, we are smart enough to understand what’s going on here. We are also smart enough to understand that we do not have to promote and give business to a network like that if we don’t believe, you know, in the action they just took. A&E is going to feel it.”
